Governance
Jukpa Social Welfare Foundation was formed in accordance with the Elder Welfare Act (Act) of Korea, specifically Articles 32 and 34, pertaining to elder citizen residential welfare facilities and elder medical welfare facilities, respectively.
The supervising body of the organization is the Board of Directors, consisting of 7 members. The composition of the members consists of 5 independent directors and 2 directors nominated by the local government. In addition to the directors, there are 2 auditors, one independent and the other nominated by the government.
The activities of the Board are overseen by the local government's arm of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. The Act is specific as to the supervisory responsibilities of the governing agency and the requirements of the government approval of certain activities of the Foundation. The Board meets a minimum of two times annually, usually in the fall and spring of each year.
